Mini-update II

Sometimes, seeing the same title over and over again for beauty pageants might become boring so someone made a new title for them, a unique one:

Do you want that title? :)

*******

Dad took me to OneTJ yesterday to buy 2 x 2GB RAM for my laptop.

Upon purchasing, I have the doubts that the two pieces of ram might not be suitable for my laptop. (Not suitable will result in Blue Screen of Death aka BSOD)

So we told the worker over there that we wanted to try installing the ram right on the spot in case the ram is incompatible.

Then the worker called a technician to come over to install the new RAM. He managed to remove the old RAM but the moment he installed the new one… PAK! It’s like something just snapped. Both me and my dad look worried and interfered to ensure that no damage is done to the slot or to the RAM.

I decided to install the 2nd piece myself (which is under the keyboard) since I did install it for Kelvin many months back. Halfway through disassembling my laptop, I met Tony who came to collect information for his project/report.

After the installation, dad told me to boot up the laptop to ensure that the RAMs are working.

Good news is that all went well, nothing is damaged, at least it’s not visible to the naked eye.

Bad news is that my OS only detects 3.5GB of ram where it should have been 4GB.

This is the reason why I wanted new RAMs so badly, the price just keeps on increasing since the model is old and not mass-produced like before. Also, I'm going to format my laptop to Windows 7 and might need more RAM to optimize performance. (Just playing safe)

Time for a major cleanup, I’ve not formatted my laptop for more than a year. Lots of data and pictures to sort out, many to be thrown away. If one cannot let go of the old, how can one welcome the new?

Short update

Names

James Bond has a special style of introducing himself by saying, 'Bond...', then followed by a charming smile & finally '...James Bond'. But recently James Bond doesn't use that style much. This is why -

James Bond was travelling on a plane, and a South Indian guy sat next to him. Being the gentleman, James Bond tries to strike up a conversation.

James Bond : "Hi. My name's Bond... James Bond."

The South Indian guy smiles back

South Indian Guy : "Hi I am Sai...
Venkata Sai...
Siva Venkata Sai...
Laxminarayana Siva Venkata Sai....
Srinivasulu Laxminarayana Siva Venkata Sai...
Rajasekhara Srinivasulu Laxminarayana Siva Venkata Sai.....
Sitaramanjaneyulu Rajasekhara Srinivasulu Laxminarayana Siva Venkata Sai....
Bommiraju Sitaramanjaneyulu Rajasekhara Srinivasulu Laxminarayana Siva Venkata Sai...."

James Bond faints!!!

My 21st Birthday Present... :D

Few weeks back, I 'complained' that my previous mouse (Free from Dell) is beginning to show signs of failure, especially the right click where you have a 50% chance of hitting the button but not getting any response. It's troublesome, really.

But now my problem is solved... Thank you everyone ^ ^

Road accident

Girl girl, few days ago you asked me to update my mushroom-grown blog.

But I had nothing to blog about, until today (past 12am).

Road accidents, how do they happen?
Until now I still don’t know, do you?

This is my tale, my first accident right after my probation period ended, first hand.

*******

It began this evening when I went to watch Transformers 2: ROTF with Steven, Annie, Angel and Dayang. As usual, I asked and pray for journey-mercy each time I leave home. All went well, the movie was nice but the ending is not as good as I expected (just the end). Overall, I’d give it an 8.5/10.

So instead of staying back to ‘limteh’ and hang out with the rest, I went home immediately. And again, all went well while I was driving UNTIL I reached the cross road near my housing area. (The road from Jalan Song to Tabuan Laru)

Green lights, I drove on.

A car stormed my way, the moment I noticed it, it was too late already. So I tried to avoid it but still, it was in vain…

CRASH! That was all I heard. The car had already rammed directly unto the driver’s side. (Right side)

I lose all my senses, touching, hearing, and feeling. My car was spinning; I thought that would be the end of me. But NO! After my car came to a stop, then only did I realize that I am still breathing so I began to panic and tried to recall what is happening…

So I was driving home and there’s this car that appeared out from nowhere and rammed unto me. I am ‘awarded’ a sort-of-merry-go-round spin for at least 1 or 2 rounds before my car came to a stop. (Just like those you see in the movies, but this one happens to me)

3 men came to me while I tried to open my car’s door. But no matter how hard I try, I just couldn’t open the door. While stuck inside the car, this conversation took place (in Hokkien) :

Them: "Are you ok?"

Me: "Why did you crash on my car?"

Them: "Not us, (Pointing to the dented Kancil) That’s the car that crash unto you. We are just here to see whether you are ok or not."

Me: (Dazed) "I can’t get out from the car."

Them: "Use the other side." (Why didn’t I think of it?)

After I got out of the car, I was overflowed with nervousness and worry. Knowing that the damage is serious, I immediately called my dad while they told me not to worry and not to pick any problems with the other party. Also, they keep saying that as long as I am uninjured, all is well…

The other party came (a young guy, probably in his 20s or 30s) and apologized to me, asking me if I am ok or not. I can’t say much, since I am still stunned by what is currently happening to me…

Dad arrived few moments later after receiving my call telling him that I had an accident. (Sorry mum and dad for making you worried…)

We proceed to lodge a police report before heading home.

*******

Now you might ask, what is the use of praying for journey-mercy if I met an accident anyway?

That was what I questioned myself just now. Instead of being upset with God, I should be grateful.

Many people kept saying ‘Count your blessings’. Today’s the day I fully understand that phrase.

Those guys who came to help or observe mentioned that if I am late for maybe a split-second, I would be in deep trouble since the car will ram unto the driver’s seat and probably kill me off. Imagine the amount of momentum inflicted to make my car spin for a few rounds and its a Kancil that rammed me.

Thank God and praise God.

Then again, if I still had my ‘P’ or probation on, I’d be in deep shit. But no, few days ago, my probation period came to an end and I got my new driving license.

Again, Thank God and praise God.

I came out of the accident in one piece, still alive and breathing, still able to walk, still able to swing my arms around and stretch myself, with the exception of a few bruises on my arm and leg and also a shock of my life. Maybe there are some internal injuries? I don’t know, it’s not visible to the naked eye so maybe I’ll go for a medical checkup later…

So once again, Thank God and praise God.

Who says that watching a movie at movie day is cheap? That movie cost me a figure starting from 'thousand' now. Sigh…

P.S: I was too nervous and worried to even bother to take a picture of my car’s current state… So there won’t be any pictures. Maybe it might appear in the news later?

What if...

I lost the motivation to blog recently, not much of a problem to me since I always kept a low profile of myself. You won’t see me advertising my blog anywhere in the internet.

I wonder why I am still feeling numb even though two-third of the semester is already over. I managed to score at least “Pass near to Credit” marks for all my assessments. Even so, that is not what I originally intended before my semester started – I want to get good grades, at least a ‘D’ or even a ‘HD’ in all my subjects.

Action speaks louder than words, saying so is easy; doing so, isn’t easy at all. You see… I’m not the type of person who likes to bury myself with books every day. I’ll do anything except studying. So whenever you see me studying in library, know that it took a great amount of willpower to make myself study.

*******

Much has happened this semester.

I went back to Utopia after much persuasion, along with Jackie, Johnny and Timothy. Thinking back, we were crazy about it during form 3, waking up as early as 2 or 3 a.m. in the morning just to manage our accounts. It’s still the same 5 years later.

*******

I also finished ‘Devil May Cry 4’ and ‘Crysis’ (Games from Steven) in less than 1 week’s time (Though the games were already released long ago). For DMC4, the protagonist is not Dante anymore but Nero; As for Crysis, The game would have been nicer if they had a longer storyline. I’ll be looking forward to Crysis: Warhead. For the game summary, you can find them in Wikipedia.

Look, the reason I never tried those games until now is because I kept assuming that my laptop would not have what it takes to play the game smoothly. Even if I am able to play some of those new games with low graphic quality, I rather not waste my time on it.

*******

I’ve also finished watching some of the recently released movie/anime.

Naruto Shippuden Movie 2: Bonds (劇場版 NARUTO−ナルト− 疾風伝 絆 Gekijōban Naruto Shippūden: Kizuna)

The actual movie is already released last year in Japan. For the introduction, it starts with a group of mysterious ninjas from sky country air striking Konoha. Enough spoilers till here. Go download the full movie and watch it.

Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) 2009 Special

It had been 3 years since the last tragedy and now Tenjo Night had been revived, it seems like he could not remember anything from the past. Someone might be able to change his fate, but will that benefit or bring more trouble to all those around him? Like before, go download the movie and watch it. I wouldn’t want to spoil anymore. 

I had a dream, again.

I wander alone in the dark hallway and came across a flight of stairs.

Climbing the flight of stairs, it seemed like any ordinary stairs, spiraling to the top.

The flight of stairs seemed unending to the point that I passed the clouds.

Then I saw lots of familiar faces, I saw her too.

Where am I? Why are there so many familiar faces?

Why am I here? Why is she here?

It doesn’t matter to me anyway. This is no lucid dream; I knew what is going to happen.

I pushed my way towards her, wanting to talk to her, even a simple ‘Hi’ is sufficient.

When I reached her, it is as if I lost my voice. I tried again and again but it was futile.

I couldn’t hear what she wanted to say either.

Then both of us were pulled away to the opposite direction.

Somehow she managed to pass me a message but I crumpled it without reading a single word,

For I was filled with sadness and anger – so near, yet so far away. And I also assumed that I already predicted what she wanted to tell me.

And I woke up.

What if I just read what she had written in that message of hers?

What if I was wrong with my assumptions?

What if…

Sidenote: Did anyone realized this?

o.O

Thinking that you had a bad day and feeling down? Take a look at this:

Fire authorities in California found a corpse in a burned-out section of forest while assessing the damage done by a forest fire. The deceased male was dressed in a full wet suit, complete with scuba tanks on his back, flippers, and face mask.

A post-mortem test revealed that the man died not from burns, but from massive internal injuries. Dental records provided a positive identification. Investigators then set about to determine how a fully clothed diver ended up in the middle of a forest fire.

It was revealed that on the day of the fire, the man went diving off the coast, some 20 miles from the forest. The fire fighters, seeking to control the fire as quickly as possible, had called in a fleet of helicopters with very large dip buckets. Water was dipped from the ocean and emptied at the site of the forest fire.

You guessed it. One minute our diver was making like Flipper in the Pacific, the next, he was doing the breast stroke in a fire dip bucket 300 feet in the air.

Thank you God

Again, let me share a joke with all of you before I proceed with monotone droning...

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Why did the chicken cross the road? We asked a variety of people about this:

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN McCAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS (KFC): Did I miss one? Damn.

I went to Genting last week. To be honest, I wasn’t in the mood to go anywhere because I am very worried and nervous of my results. But since my dad said that we should at least visit Genting once, I tagged along.

We used AirAsia to KL, and guess what? First they re-timed our flight from 11am to 1pm, never mind that. They told us to go to Gate 1 to board the plane, when we reach gate 1, the person in charge told us that it has changed to Gate 7.

So there we are, waiting at gate 7 till near-boarding time when there’s another announcement telling all the passengers that the boarding gate has changed to Gate 1 again. I’m sure I heard one American saying “What the hell?” loudly. Lol.

Reaching Genting, it’s almost 6.30p.m.

Here’s a view of the hotel we are staying at.

Then we visited the casinos, there are everywhere. The sad thing is, I cannot enter!

I’ve no idea when police are enforced to guard the entrance. There used to be no police at all, as long as you have money, you can go in. So suay lor..

One of the casinos

The garden (taken at the restaurant providing breakfast)

Next morning, I wasn’t in the mood to enjoy myself at the theme park so I gave excuses not to go in. I mean, how can you enjoy yourself while your worries are completely focused on your results right? You wouldn’t enjoy the theme park anymore and going in would be a waste.

Other pics are with my dad, will take from him some time later...

*******

Results were released today. If you see me blogging here, it’s got to be good news or else there will be no new entry from me…

I prayed again and again hoping that I would pass because I did not do well in 2 out of the 3 subjects. So in the end I get:

Distinction for Energy and Motion
Pass for Mechanics of Structure and
Pass for Engineering Mathematics I

Ok, I’m not the only one being ecstatic here. I’ve seen other’s results and they did fine too… I guess this will be a good CNY for everyone…

P.S: I’m not trying to say that by not studying hard and just praying, you can get what you want. Always remember that if you want God to help you, help yourself first.

Challenging myself

This will be my last entry until finals are over...

Here's a simple joke to entertain you all.

3 Little Pigs

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class. She came to the part of the story where the first pig was trying to accumulate the building materials for his home.

She read, "...and so the pig went up to the man with the wheel barrow full of straw and said, "Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that straw to build my house?"

The teacher paused then asked the class, "And what do you think that man said?"

One little boy raised his hand and said, "I think he said 'Holy Sh!t! A talking pig!'"

The teacher fainted.

The remaining days before finals can be counted by any single hand - 4 (nearing 3) days left.

That marks the 4th day without touching any computer games at all. Sure, anyone can do that easily but that's totally different for me.

I started playing DOS games like Pacman and Digger when I was 3 years old and had been playing games till now.

I find it hard to not touch games for even a single day. But for the sake of finals, I gave in and challenged myself to not touch games during the remaining 1 week + 3 days (for final exam).

From here I can understand those who are alcoholic - You want to stop but you can't bring yourself to.

For gameaholic people like me, it's easy to not touch any games. The hard part is to suppress the urge within you when you see others playing and you know that you want to join in too. So far, I have been able to resist it and hope that I have the willpower to continue on.

So.. To everyone who knows me, feel free to give me a slap or a punch if you see me playing any computer games within this 1 week.

Thanks! ^ ^

Experience

I almost got into an accident yesterday.

It happened somewhere near Jalan Song. There were some men pruning the trees and they blocked a part of the 2 lane road. There’s this Unser that I am following blindly. The driver showed no signals of braking so I drove on as usual until I realized something is wrong since the gap between my car and his car is closing up at an insane speed.

Something like this ( no time to take picture of the original happening )

The most sensible choice is to brake immediately, which I did and was so close to getting involved in an accident. My dad said if I were to be involved in an accident, he would have to make a false report that it was him who was driving or my driving license would be suspended.

Being one who doesn’t want others to take the blame for me, I can only take a deep breath to cool down my tensed self and give thanks to the Lord for preventing an accident that is going to befall on me.

Praise the Lord, for He had been so kind and merciful to me. Always and forever.

This entry, is a rant.

I wanted to blog about this movie 1 week ago but couldn’t find the motivation to start it…

Its called ‘The Bucket List’

I doubt anyone reading this will go and watch this movie so I’ll just go on with the summary. (You may skip this part if you are totally not interested in it.)

The story revolves around 2 man, Edward Cole, a multi-millionaire hospital magnate and Carter Chambers, a common mechanic.

Carter is a gifted historian whose ambition is to be a history professor but during his youth, he was “broke, black, and with a baby arriving” so he had to give up his ambition and took up any job available to him.

As for Edward, he is a corporate tycoon, divorced four times, an eccentric loner, whose daughter refuses to recognize him as her father and enjoys tormenting his personal assistant/valet, Matthew, whom he prefer to call as Thomas. He also enjoys the “world’s rarest coffee, The “Kopi Luwak”.

It began when both of them are diagnosed with cancer and placed in the same room of Edward’s hospital. As time passes by, they became friends while undergoing their respective treatments. Edward is fast in befriending Carter when he told his personal assistant, Matthew to serve his newfound friend – Carter too. He even told his doctor to familiarize himself with Carter’s current health condition.

Carter then begins to write a “bucket list” which is also known as “things to accomplish before kicking the bucket.” He is questioned by Edward regarding what he is writing on that piece of paper (the bucket list), which he politely refuses to tell.

When both are diagnosed with a maximum of one year to live, and Carter knows of it, he was upset and crumples his “bucket list” and tosses it on the floor. Matthew came in the next day, noticing the floor is a mess and picks everything up and passes them to Edward, who is curious to find out what is written in that piece of paper. Edward then began to add more items into the list like sky diving, visiting the pyramids, going on a safari in Africa. He even said that all the travelling expenses will be paid, Carter immediately agrees even though his wife disagrees about it.

The bucket list :

  1. Witness something truly majestic
  2. Help a complete stranger for a common good
  3. Laugh till I cry
  4. Drive a Shelby Mustang
  5. Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world
  6. Get a tattoo
  7. Skydiving
  8. Visit Stonehenge
  9. Spend a week at Louvre
  10. See Rome
  11. See the pyramids
  12. Get back in touch (previously "Hunt the big cat")

They started with skydiving (each with an instructor), where Carter is afraid of dying and pulls the parachute cord before the red zone while Edward refuses to pull his parachute strap even when his instructor insists that he has to pull it. After climbing the pyramids, Edward proposed that they cross off “Witness something truly majestic” as they sat down. Carter declines. During that period of time, they learn from each other and talked about their family. Edward said that he is deeply hurt when his one and only daughter disowned him after he sent men to “deal” with her abusive husband. As for Carter, he said that he felt distant with his wife.

When in Hong Kong, Edward hires a prostitute for Carter, who never had sex with any other woman except his wife. Carter rejected it when he realized that his love for his wife is still strong and asked to return home. In return for helping him, Carter attempts to reunite Edward with his daughter but things didn’t turn out well as Edward lacks the courage to face her. He storms off angrily and Carter returns home to his family.

Their family reunion is short-lived though because Carter suffers a seizure while in preparation for a romantic interlude with his wife. He is rushed to the hospital and it is noted that the cancer has spread to his brain. Edward (who is in complete remission) paid a visit to Carter, where he reveals the origin and the factors that contributed the unique aroma and taste of Edward’s favorite drink - the Kopi Luwak. Both of them had a hearty laugh and Carter crosses off one of the items in the list – “laugh till I cry” and insists Edward to finish the list without him before he enters the surgery room. The operation is unsuccessful and Carter passes on.

During Carter’s funeral, Edward was the one to deliver a eulogy for him, saying that few months before his death, they had been complete strangers. But those last months of Carter’s life (after they met each other) were the best months of his life. With that, he crosses off “help a complete stranger for a common good” in “the bucket list”.

Then we see Edward finally went to reconcile with his only daughter who accepts him back into her life, much to his surprise and joy. She also introduces him her daughter, his granddaughter that he never knew of and kissed her. Crossing “kiss the most beautiful girl in the world” off the list.

As the epilogue, we see Carter narrating stating that Edward lives to the age of 81. On the day he passes away, there isn’t a single cloud on the sky. Edward has his ashes placed inside the same type of can as Carter’s – Chock full o’ Nuts. Where Matthew carries his ashes to the top of Mount Everest and places it in a small black box – next to Carter’s ashes. With that, Matthew crosses off “witness something truly majestic” and places the list inside the small black box before burying it in the snow again.

*******

My dad once told me that the Bible’s teachings are very true. If someone slaps you on your left cheek, give him your right cheek too. If someone steals your coat, give him your tunic too. This should be familiar to most of us. From here I relate this to something that happened in the past.

It’s not that I like to bring up old issues but because whenever I think of that incident, my blood boils. No doubt, that incident I am talking about happened few days just after the final exam.

Introduction to Programming in C.

Students have to attend a 1 on 1 interview session with the lecturer, Sheldon Lee. Failure to do so results in a fail or N for the subject. (Or that’s what I was told)

I have no need to twist what I am going to write here. Everything happened below is true and there are many witness too.

There’s this person that I reminded him of his interview, not once but twice. The 1st time was 1 or 2 weeks before the interview and the 2nd time was the day before the interview. Either he did not believe what I told him or just couldn’t be bothered, that I don’t give a damn. The moment I asked him about it the 3rd time, he was taken aback and went to confirm it himself. Finally he believed me but that’s not all.

He put the blame on me for not telling him the THIRD time that today is the day of his interview. AND he still has the guts to tell another friend “SW, we fail programming because of him.” Deep within me, it took me so much effort to suppress the urge to retort back. Who am I, your servant? Am I paid to keep tabs of your appointments and all sorts of shit you do? NO! You are already 20 years old, and if you still can’t be responsible for yourself, nobody else can help you.

In the end, I gave in and say that it is my fault for not telling you the THIRD time that today is your interview. Yes, any human would have commented that it is a very stupid thing to do – admitting a fault that wasn’t yours to begin with.

Let me be frank, I am positive that many will assume that I am a quiet person, who always give in to other people’s will and rarely disagrees on anything even though I don’t like it. AND if you are willing to go as far as thinking that I am a good target for bullying, LET me tell this to you straight onto the face. You are wrong, so wrong.

“You weren’t wrong, why did you apologize to him?” Many questioned me that way. Sorry, but I usually give in until I believe the person that I give in to is incurable, then only I show my other self.

I give in because I follow the teachings of what I believe. If someone slaps you on your left cheek, give him your right cheek too. BUT every human has its own limit, you try stepping on my head and that is what will happen - Keyword: After MOS test 1.

Whoever is right or wrong, you know it yourself. Apology or not, it’s worthless from you. The last thing I want is to have you crossing my path. You MAY go and twist the tale and tell whatever you want if you intend to defend yourself. It has nothing to do with me anymore. I’ve finished my rant and have nothing else to say about it.

Felt so much better now. Sorry for the rant, I'll compensate by sharing these pictures :

This part of the news really makes me wonder what’s wrong with these people:

Forgiven n' forgotten

Thoughts to self: I wish I will only live till the age of 70. Losing control of your own body is a very scary thought indeed.

Speaking of that…

Why do men die first? This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries, but now we know. It requires a bit of explanation, first:

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race ... you're a male chauvinist.
If you stay home and do the housework ... you're a pansy.

If you work too hard ... there's never any time for her.
If you don't work enough ... you're a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay ... this is exploitation.
If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay ... you should get off your lazy behind and find something better.

If you get a promotion ahead of her ... that is favoritism.
If she gets a job ahead of you ... its equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks ... its sexual harassment.
If you keep quiet ... its male indifference.

If you cry ... you're a wimp.
If you don't … you're an insensitive bastard.

If you make a decision without consulting her ... you're a chauvinist.
If she makes a decision without consulting you, she's a liberated woman.

If you ask her to do something she doesn't enjoy ... that's domination.
If she asks you ... it's a favor.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear ... you're a pervert.
If you don't ... you're gay.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape ... you're sexist.
If you don't ... you're unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape ... you're vain.
If you don't ... you're a slob.

If you buy her flowers ... you're after something.
If you don't ... you're not thoughtful.

If you're proud of your achievements ... you're full of yourself.
If you don't ... you're not ambitious.

If she has a headache ... she's tired.
If you have a headache ... you don't love her anymore.

If you want it too often ... you're oversexed.
If you don't ... there must be someone else.

Now why do men die first? Because they want to.

If I say I love alan out of the blue. I’m positive that every reader will think that I turned into a gay.

Rest assured, I’m still straight.

There you go, the name ‘alan’ can also be used by women too even though it is like one in a million.

Actually, I saw her album in DDL websites long ago but ignored it because I wasn’t interested in a singer that I have no idea of, and a guy some more. Until a comment by a downloader caught my eye saying something like: “alan does have a entrancing voice, thank you for uploading it”.

I was wondering what is so entrancing about a guy’s voice so I downloaded one of alan’s album out of curiosity. Lo and behold, instead of a guy’s voice, I heard a gal’s voice. That’s when I became interested in her songs. The reason is because she possesses a powerful but gentle voice, not forgetting that she is a beauty too.

She sang both Chinese and Japanese songs, including one of my favorite few years back - 遇见. Although the original singer is 孫燕姿, the one sang by alan isn’t too bad too.

Even though she is not as popular as other J-pop stars, I’m positive that she will become well known one day.

It seems like whatever I do is always wrong, is it wrong for me to shut my old self? One who is always very direct and unforgiving to the current me - who always kept quiet and very forgiving, who always tells himself that someday he will change that attitude of his?

Put yourself in my shoes and you will realize just how much effort I put in from then till now to endure that attitude of yours. You are already 20 this year - an adult. Can't you be more responsible of yourself?

Well whatever, do as you please. Put the blame on me, curse me. Anything! Know that this is how life works - "Do unto others what you want others to do to you; What goes around, comes around."

Until this point, if you still think I am purposely blogging this entry to stab you from the back and now you want to write back with your flames, think again. I am but just pointing out the facts. If you disagree with what I am writing here, just leave.

I'm tired of it already, if you won't change, then there's no point in it anymore.

Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be.

Edited to prevent further misunderstandings.

Saw her again after countless months.

Was surprised when she chatted with me.

Talk like those old days.

And yes, she’s still good looking like the last time I saw her, or maybe even more radiant now. Who knows?

A bad premonition

Last night, I had two dreams.

Both dreams are completely unrelated to each other but the only thing that makes me shiver is that the two dreams share the same message or warning.

That I am going to either misplace my laptop or it will be stolen.

One will usually tell himself / herself that dreams and reality are two parallel worlds and will never cross each other. But given the fact that there are a couple of times that my dreams actually came true, (as in what I had dreamed of before waking up actually happened like what I had in my dream) how can I not be worried of it?

Sometimes my dreams really make me turn paranoid even though it sounds silly if you try to think of it logically…

Online games…

Brings back countless pieces of memories when I was a hardcore online gamer.

Reminds me of those I befriend with,
Reminds me of those both happy and sad moments,
Reminds me of those I hurt and lied to,
Reminds me of those I cheated and being cheated by,
Reminds me of my foolish mistakes,

And lastly, reminds me that what I have achieved in online games is actually nothing in reality and that I was a fool to place online games first instead of my loved ones.

Below is one of the many scenes that I wanted to get rid off but it stubbornly resides in my sea of memories…

R.O.S.E. online.
She needed money to buy her own equipment and...

Me: “I just found (insert item name) and will sell it for
1mil later and the money will be mine.”

Her: “…”

Sigh.

The phrase “learning from mistakes” is so true, isn’t it? I guess those memories of mine will always keep me company to refrain me from doing the same mistake again.

Another virus attack...

Got another virus attack and this time screwed me up real good. Took me one whole afternoon to format my laptop and backing up as many files as I can.

Note to self:

- To get a backup driver ready at all times (preferably a external HD)
- To sort out my stuffs from time to time

Data loss:

CNC3: Tiberium Wars
CNC3: Kane’s Wrath
2moons
CabalSEA
Hitman 4: Blood money <-- likely where the virus came from.

Strange isn’t it? And a lot more minor stuff that got mixed up with other unwanted folders went missing.

Maybe it’s time for me to really start studying since finals are like 1 month away.

*******

Looks similiar to Makoto's death in School days, but instead of being stabbed by someone else, he suicided (looks like Wataru).

If this came from School Days, I understand, but this is from DC2SC.

I wonder why is there a blood scene... Can anyone who played the game before fill me?

Virus attack

It took me around 3 years to find this song. I heard of this song from some radio channels few years back and liked it immediately, but I have no idea of the name of the band when they introduced themselves. I thought it was ‘ambers’ or ‘am-girls’ and no idea for the title of the song so there’s no way to search the net for it.

Today, while idling and recalling the past, I thought of this song suddenly and tried to type in whatever is relevant to the band name. So I got the name ‘m-girls’ then followed by going to youtube and clicking all the MVs to search for the song title.

Time taken to search for band name: 30 minutes
Time taken to search for the song name: 1 hour
Time taken to search for relevant downloading source: > 1 hour
Satisfaction: Priceless

My laptop is infected with the ‘infamous virus of Swinburne’ without me knowing until a pop-up from NOD 32 warning me continuously that the virus kept replacing itself the moment it is deleted.

Why is it from Swinburne? Because I'm not the first person to experience it. Whoever plugs his/her pendrive or portable HD into the computers in Swinburne will definitely get that virus.

The virus somehow locks your hidden folders away from you and if you have any important data kept inside one of those hidden folders of yours. Too bad then, you won't be able to access it. I was told that there is no other way except reformatting your PC to remove that virus.

For my case, besides locking my hidden folders, 'My Computer' is also locked. I got so frustrated when NOD 32 failed me; it rarely fails any user before. Before I move to the meltdown stage, I sought the final option and it worked. That virus left my laptop peacefully.

The developers of Windows XP gave us a priceless tool.

Ever want to hop into a time machine to go back into time? I believe most of us want to. To correct our past mistakes, to take another path in life, to cherish someone before we lost them. But sadly, there is no time machine in this world.

The computers are lucky; well, only those running under Windows XP are, since they possess a time machine. Whenever you mess up anything and unable to return it to its original state, use the time machine.

AND it also works for removing the ‘infamous virus of Swinburne’. Now you can save some money for reformatting your PC whenever it is infected by that virus. Most of you must have already figured out the priceless tool I am talking about. If you haven’t, it is none other than the System Restore.

Try it out yourself.

Note: Died twice while multitasking punching monsters and blogging. x_X

I received a heavy dose of my own 'medicine' today, courtesy of Ah Lam, Ah Seng, Chen, Kelvin, Shao Wee, Yong Guan and Zhi Wei.

Why did I say a dose of my own medicine?

It's a long story. To cut it short, I understand how it feels to be the victim now.

A new beginning

I can feel the joy of Christmas…

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la…

*******
The results are released at 6:xx pm.

I nearly suffocated when I search for my results because I knew I did badly in my EMB.

Few days ago...

I even called my subject lecturer to help me out but she told me there’s not much she can do as there is another co-marker who will be marking the papers too.

I prayed to God again and again, asking for the same thing that is to be able to pass both my EMB and Physics B. I know this sounds lame but I did promise to quit dota if I pass both of my subjects this time. I even put in that I will help in VBS but that’s another story.

Today...

Yeah, amazingly our gang of friends passed. We couldn’t be more grateful than that.

This might be sudden but now its time for me to put an end to my dota life. In case any of you are reading this, I want to apologize for leaving without any word.

A short convo with uncle Kenneth. Lol.
I’m definitely going to miss you all:

Kenneth aka Jiffy,
Ric aka Kheez,
Siang aka Alphavam,
Kenneth aka DemonHunter,
Calendar aka Keat Meng,
Rafe Daniel aka Rafe,
Shina aka Reikemuguri,
Sheau Ying aka Berry,
Kennedy aka Lancerance.

The 3 Hew brothers:
Nicholas aka Puyo;
Kenneth aka Tetsujin
Kelvin aka KelvinHew.

And the list goes on. I’m sorry if your names are not included or if I misspell your name.

Happy Holidays everyone, see you all at the ‘advance’ race next semester.

Dilemma

Outside Secret Recipe

Timothy: Happy Birthday!
Me: Thanks!

More and more friends arriving; shook hands after exchanging birthday wish and thanks. When it is Daniel’s turn, we shook hands and…

Me: Happy Birthday!
Daniel and Me: !?

Everyone roared with laughter.

Thanks a lot Daniel, Donny, Pauline, Pei Sze, Siaw Wei, Siew Yong, Timothy and Wan Yan for celebrating my birthday with me. I appreciate it very much! :)

Also, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

*******

During class hours, it was just another day. Class ended in a blink of the eye and its time for choir club.

It was Shu Chan and my birthday, so the members of the choir club sang the ‘Happy Birthday’ song before starting the usual practice.

Nothing much happened until I received a sms from Siew Yong telling me that there will be a gathering at Secret Recipe. There I met a number of my ex-classmates, Daniel and I talked like no tomorrow until we were cut off by the rest, telling us to place our orders.

Timothy brought his girlfriend along and I’d say she stands at 4.5 out of 5 points if I am to rate her; the majority are likely to agree with me that she’s gorgeous. Apparently she came out halfway during a dinner and had to go back in a short while.

After spending like 2 hours in Secret Recipe, the majority decided the next stop would be the Kuching Festival. Since I had not been there yet, I’d give a shot for it. Daniel, Timothy and Donny were the ones driving. So we split into groups of 3 and proceed to our destination.

Still the same old spot like last year, nothing changed, all the same (Donny went to meet his girlfriend while the rest of us explore the stalls). Time seemed to pass by so swiftly until someone pointed out that it’s getting late and Siew Yong had to be back at home before 11pm.

Timothy sent Pei Sze and Siaw Wei home while Daniel sent Siew Yong home. The remaining 4 of us – Daniel, Pauline, Wan Yan and I went to the KIA aka poikeeteo. There we talked about relationships and relationships and anything related to relationships.

The clock struck twelve, It’s Wan Yan’s turn to go home. Pauline insisted on staying back to talk but then she went home too the moment the car reached her house.

With the relationship topic fresh in mind, I asked Daniel about her and he told me what I needed to know and joining his story and my own story to get the picture of what is actually going on.

I told him that:

I was forced to wake up early in the morning somewhere around 5.30am when my handphone notified me of an incoming sms. Out of curiosity wondering who sent a sms at this hour, I checked the inbox.

She sent a ‘birthday song’ sms. Of course I’m glad about it but thinking that I must be dreaming, I left my handphone back to where it was and continued to sleep. 3 hours later, after realizing that it wasn’t a dream, I proceed to thank her for the birthday wish.

Instead of hearing something positive, he said: “You only thank her and that’s all?”

What else should I do then? It would be weird to talk more than that.

In his opinion, the sms she sent must have been special since it was sent early in the morning, likely the first thing she did after waking up. He also said that it won’t directly occur to her to just send me a sms without proper planning. He had his point.

But then in my opinion, this is just a normal greeting to me since it is normal for her to wake up as early as 5 in the morning and nothing more than that. There is a high chance that both minds do not think alike. Meaning to say that if I took it seriously while she took it casually, it would be like what my friends used to say in mandarin: Zhi(4) Zuo(4) Duo(1) Qing(2).

Thinking back, I had stopped smsing with her daily for like 10 months after something unpleasant happened even though the previous conflict had been cleared. During those 10 months, many had happened but in the end he said everything is now stable. He also told me that maybe I should take the first step instead of just waiting. I ever considered it before but then deep in my heart I would not want the same thing to repeat again.

Indeed a few of my friends pointed out that I never showed any special interest in any girls. The reason is because she is still in my mind. The same girl Kelvin and Jeff asked about during ‘Truth or Dare’ on Irene’s birthday last year. I wonder anyone realized I was startled when the question was thrown at me. Nevertheless, I answered it calmly, removing the doubts from the faces staring at me.

Yes I know this is a one-sided feeling. I doubt I will get any response or reply from the other side but I never bothered about it. I like it this way – staying single and sometimes recalling those fond memories in Form 2. That alone is sufficient for me to face any day.

Addiction

Good luck on ur re-sit test today SP!

*******

It has been awhile or should I say it has always been?

Chen told me that I became a different person whenever I play the accursed game – DotA. He's not the first one.

I won’t disagree with him, in fact, I completely agree with what he says. From whom I inherit this, will be a secret buried deep within me.

Like many cartoons had described, within our consciousness resides an angel and a devil. Tom and Jerry is a good example. Many people differ; some are more to the angel side while the rest are to the devil side.

As for me, I admit that the devil is stronger than the angel inside me. Making me very short-temper and very vengeful; an eye for an eye was what I had been living on. Knowing this long ago, I had been forcing myself to be quiet and ignore whatever that is thrown at me in the real world.

There is a price to pay for being quiet and nice in the real world. In return for that, the devil within me takes control whenever I play any games. On the bright side, the duration the devil takes control ends the moment the game I play ends.

Give me that potion Dr. Jekyll drank and I will still be the same old me whenever I play that accursed game or I won’t be playing that game at all.

If anyone had been pointing out that I should just quit playing that accursed game, all I can say is that if a drug addict can let go of his drugs that easily, then I will have no problem with quitting the accursed game. Also, if there is such thing as severing the evil side of a person, I wouldn’t have even laid a finger on that game in the first place and there won’t be anymore sin in this world.

I’ll quit that accursed game, sooner or later.

Sweat.

This is taken from SK's blog.. I tried it out of curiosity and this is what I get.. :S

You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

Toothache

Yesterday, I shudder at the thought of joining the victims who lost their TI calculator and became very depressed. Before I am about to give up, a simple prayer lead me to my misplaced calculator ^ ^

*******

Wisdom Tooth (since there’s only 1 for my case)

That vertically impacted tooth had been causing me a lot of problems like uneasiness and pain, there are times when my gums bleed because of it.

Ouch. =/
