Fire at Swinburne Sarawak: What happened
□ The fire was discovered early
□ The fire brigade was called in immediately
□ Everyone was told to evacuate the building
□ There was no panic, everyone left the building safely
□ No one was injured
□ Only a store room on the roof of the building was affected by the fire
□ There is no damage to other parts of the building
□ The cause of the fire is being investigated
□ Electricity supply and network services were restored yesterday (12th December)
□ Lifts will be back in service within 2 to 3 days
□ Open day on Saturday, 16 December will go on as scheduled
□ Classes will resume on Monday, 18th December 2006
Immidiate actions to be taken:
□ Emergency committee to be set up
□ Emergency procedural manual will be developed and circulated
□ Regular emergency/fire drill to be conducted
