This entry, is a rant.

I wanted to blog about this movie 1 week ago but couldn’t find the motivation to start it…

Its called ‘The Bucket List

I doubt anyone reading this will go and watch this movie so I’ll just go on with the summary. (You may skip this part if you are totally not interested in it.)

The story revolves around 2 man, Edward Cole, a multi-millionaire hospital magnate and Carter Chambers, a common mechanic.

Carter is a gifted historian whose ambition is to be a history professor but during his youth, he was “broke, black, and with a baby arriving” so he had to give up his ambition and took up any job available to him.

As for Edward, he is a corporate tycoon, divorced four times, an eccentric loner, whose daughter refuses to recognize him as her father and enjoys tormenting his personal assistant/valet, Matthew, whom he prefer to call as Thomas. He also enjoys the “world’s rarest coffee, The “Kopi Luwak”.

It began when both of them are diagnosed with cancer and placed in the same room of Edward’s hospital. As time passes by, they became friends while undergoing their respective treatments. Edward is fast in befriending Carter when he told his personal assistant, Matthew to serve his newfound friend – Carter too. He even told his doctor to familiarize himself with Carter’s current health condition.

Carter then begins to write a “bucket list” which is also known as “things to accomplish before kicking the bucket.” He is questioned by Edward regarding what he is writing on that piece of paper (the bucket list), which he politely refuses to tell.

When both are diagnosed with a maximum of one year to live, and Carter knows of it, he was upset and crumples his “bucket list” and tosses it on the floor. Matthew came in the next day, noticing the floor is a mess and picks everything up and passes them to Edward, who is curious to find out what is written in that piece of paper. Edward then began to add more items into the list like sky diving, visiting the pyramids, going on a safari in Africa. He even said that all the travelling expenses will be paid, Carter immediately agrees even though his wife disagrees about it.

The bucket list :

  1. Witness something truly majestic
  2. Help a complete stranger for a common good
  3. Laugh till I cry
  4. Drive a Shelby Mustang
  5. Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world
  6. Get a tattoo
  7. Skydiving
  8. Visit Stonehenge
  9. Spend a week at Louvre
  10. See Rome
  11. See the pyramids
  12. Get back in touch (previously "Hunt the big cat")

They started with skydiving (each with an instructor), where Carter is afraid of dying and pulls the parachute cord before the red zone while Edward refuses to pull his parachute strap even when his instructor insists that he has to pull it. After climbing the pyramids, Edward proposed that they cross off “Witness something truly majestic” as they sat down. Carter declines. During that period of time, they learn from each other and talked about their family. Edward said that he is deeply hurt when his one and only daughter disowned him after he sent men to “deal” with her abusive husband. As for Carter, he said that he felt distant with his wife.

When in Hong Kong, Edward hires a prostitute for Carter, who never had sex with any other woman except his wife. Carter rejected it when he realized that his love for his wife is still strong and asked to return home. In return for helping him, Carter attempts to reunite Edward with his daughter but things didn’t turn out well as Edward lacks the courage to face her. He storms off angrily and Carter returns home to his family.

Their family reunion is short-lived though because Carter suffers a seizure while in preparation for a romantic interlude with his wife. He is rushed to the hospital and it is noted that the cancer has spread to his brain. Edward (who is in complete remission) paid a visit to Carter, where he reveals the origin and the factors that contributed the unique aroma and taste of Edward’s favorite drink - the Kopi Luwak. Both of them had a hearty laugh and Carter crosses off one of the items in the list – “laugh till I cry” and insists Edward to finish the list without him before he enters the surgery room. The operation is unsuccessful and Carter passes on.

During Carter’s funeral, Edward was the one to deliver a eulogy for him, saying that few months before his death, they had been complete strangers. But those last months of Carter’s life (after they met each other) were the best months of his life. With that, he crosses off “help a complete stranger for a common good” in “the bucket list”.

Then we see Edward finally went to reconcile with his only daughter who accepts him back into her life, much to his surprise and joy. She also introduces him her daughter, his granddaughter that he never knew of and kissed her. Crossing “kiss the most beautiful girl in the world” off the list.

As the epilogue, we see Carter narrating stating that Edward lives to the age of 81. On the day he passes away, there isn’t a single cloud on the sky. Edward has his ashes placed inside the same type of can as Carter’s – Chock full o’ Nuts. Where Matthew carries his ashes to the top of Mount Everest and places it in a small black box – next to Carter’s ashes. With that, Matthew crosses off “witness something truly majestic” and places the list inside the small black box before burying it in the snow again.

My dad once told me that the Bible’s teachings are very true. If someone slaps you on your left cheek, give him your right cheek too. If someone steals your coat, give him your tunic too. This should be familiar to most of us. From here I relate this to something that happened in the past.

It’s not that I like to bring up old issues but because whenever I think of that incident, my blood boils. No doubt, that incident I am talking about happened few days just after the final exam.

Introduction to Programming in C.

Students have to attend a 1 on 1 interview session with the lecturer, Sheldon Lee. Failure to do so results in a fail or N for the subject. (Or that’s what I was told)

I have no need to twist what I am going to write here. Everything happened below is true and there are many witness too.

There’s this person that I reminded him of his interview, not once but twice. The 1st time was 1 or 2 weeks before the interview and the 2nd time was the day before the interview. Either he did not believe what I told him or just couldn’t be bothered, that I don’t give a damn. The moment I asked him about it the 3rd time, he was taken aback and went to confirm it himself. Finally he believed me but that’s not all.

He put the blame on me for not telling him the THIRD time that today is the day of his interview. AND he still has the guts to tell another friend “SW, we fail programming because of him.” Deep within me, it took me so much effort to suppress the urge to retort back. Who am I, your servant? Am I paid to keep tabs of your appointments and all sorts of shit you do? NO! You are already 20 years old, and if you still can’t be responsible for yourself, nobody else can help you.

In the end, I gave in and say that it is my fault for not telling you the THIRD time that today is your interview. Yes, any human would have commented that it is a very stupid thing to do – admitting a fault that wasn’t yours to begin with.

Let me be frank, I am positive that many will assume that I am a quiet person, who always give in to other people’s will and rarely disagrees on anything even though I don’t like it. AND if you are willing to go as far as thinking that I am a good target for bullying, LET me tell this to you straight onto the face. You are wrong, so wrong.

“You weren’t wrong, why did you apologize to him?” Many questioned me that way. Sorry, but I usually give in until I believe the person that I give in to is incurable, then only I show my other self.

I give in because I follow the teachings of what I believe. If someone slaps you on your left cheek, give him your right cheek too. BUT every human has its own limit, you try stepping on my head and that is what will happen - Keyword: After MOS test 1.

Whoever is right or wrong, you know it yourself. Apology or not, it’s worthless from you. The last thing I want is to have you crossing my path. You MAY go and twist the tale and tell whatever you want if you intend to defend yourself. It has nothing to do with me anymore. I’ve finished my rant and have nothing else to say about it.

Felt so much better now. Sorry for the rant, I'll compensate by sharing these pictures :

*******

This part of the news really makes me wonder what’s wrong with these people:

This guy is a failure:

Don’t seek advice from this person:

Wrong! :

If you are stolen…:

The picture says it:

Now this isn’t suitable to some people but… just once only ok? :

You poke you pay! :

P.S: Any destructive comments from you will be removed immediately. Not that I have no guts to face it, but rather not to waste time replying it. So save your time and just leave after reading it. You may rant somewhere else, somewhere you belong to. If you want

Honesty is the best policy

Yes it is, honesty indeed is the best policy. BUT it never applies in politics.

I got tagged by Rosemary to pen down 25 embarrassing things that happened to me in my life.

Laugh all you want, though I don’t find any of it funny.. xD

1. During my 1st semester in Swinburne, I went to the wrong toilet at 6th floor (2 girls came out when I rush in). Didn’t know that both male and female toilets exchange sides on 6thfloor onwards.

2. Tripped and fell down on a rainy day, just outside of Swinburne’s rear entrance after meeting Jin Thad for the 1st time. (was a rainy day that time)

3. Talk loudly in the quiet library atmosphere because I forgot to remove my earphones, causing almost everyone around me to look at my direction

4. First time attempting on jumping from the top floor of the school’s makmal (science lab). Instead of landing with my legs, I land with my butt. Ouch indeed, but perfected my jump ever since.

5. During Form 3, I mistaken a new transfer student as my friend and give him a pat at the back, asking him what is he doing. Too late when I realized he’s not the one I want to talk to. Nevertheless, we became friends.

6. For those who are in the same year as I am (in secondary school) should know of this: “Kelas 3 Kuning tidak dikawal… etc etc etc.” I was 1 of the 3 who got caught by Puan Poh Meng Eng, the previous PK HEM for standing on the “corridor wall”. (The short wall thingy, to protect students from falling down from high grounds. what do you call it?)

7. Got lost in Singapore’s zoo when I was young (4 or 5 years old I think) and immediately pull on a stranger’s hand, thinking that he’s my dad. That stranger stared blankly at me and I quickly turn away.

8. On my 1st day to nursery, I cried and cried, insisting my parents not to leave me. I think in the end either my mum or my dad had no choice but to stay with me on that particular day. Never cried anymore since then.

9. I scolded someone in Sunday school, forgot the reason I did so. It’s already too late when I realized that she is my kindergarden friend, then my 1st friend in ITS. Apologized to her 5 years later in church and rarely see her anymore, probably studying in Australia now. I horribly regretted my past actions.

10. This might sound silly but I proposed to a girl whom I never knew in person with the reason of giving her a new year present (online present, Gunbound) and got rejected. Laugh all you want.

Ha ha ha. There, that should be enough.

Continuing with the last one, I got accepted the next day. That was 4 years ago.

10 should be more than enough right?

Someone said that friends are like candles, when you light them up, they will disappear one day. True that, not forgetting:

Light a candle with a match, and its light will accompany you till the end of its lifespan, leaving traces of candle wax as ‘remembrance’.

Ignite a candle with a flamethrower and you will be blinded temporarily by its flare, and left not even a single trace of candle wax.

Ignite the rest of the candles you have with flamethrower again and be ready to be in darkness for the rest of your life, until you find new candles, that is.

I have some pictures to share with all of you:

This is for those who disagree that NOD 32 is the best AV (antivirus).

This is for those game freaks, especially WoW:

This is for those who think that life is meaningless:

This is what the tour guide in Shenzhen told us:

じゃんけんぽん! (Rock, paper, scissors) Who says paper beats rock?

Body glove! Wait, what?

Salad! Yum yum..

Even solitaire can frustrate people, especially when:

This is for the couples out there; I know that you should be honest to him/her every time, but sometimes there are things that is better remained as a secret. Disagree? Take a look at this picture and you will understand:

Mumble jumble

Hmm.. I wonder how should I start this entry...

I've finished watching 倚天屠龍記 2003 not too long ago. The storyline is ok but the ending is just so-so only (disappointed lah, obviously). This tale is the continuation of 神雕侠侣 that I watched few months back.

Now for those BS 3 fans out there, rejoice! For Blueserver will be back soon, not as BS 4 but as UC - Pro. More information -here-

No one can deny the passing of time. Even the hardest rock gets worn down from continuous weathering, what else to say of our humanistic character and personality? Yes, they will change with time too. Be it for the better good or the opposite, that is what we have chosen.

Anyway, I found this in campus while hopping from website to website. Yes I know I should be studying only and not surfing the internet but we must balance our lifestyle mah. Got study then got play right?

(Blogger.com kept resizing the picture -_-) so... -Click me-

I pity that dude...

P.S: For those who are very holy and not exposed to the 'alien' world, you are advised not to click on the picture above. Though I don't see any problem with it.

Lessons in life

How does it feel now, that you did not get zero for your MOS test 1..? Who will shoulder the blame now? Who is the one at fault now?

Now do you understand why I said that you are always jumping into conclusion and worrying over something that won’t happen?

I am tempted to be very sarcastic now, but I'll just let that thought slip unless provoked. For now.

Comments not needed therefore disabled, just spare a few moment and ponder about it yourself.

Forgiven n' forgotten

Thoughts to self: I wish I will only live till the age of 70. Losing control of your own body is a very scary thought indeed.

Speaking of that…

Why do men die first? This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries, but now we know. It requires a bit of explanation, first:

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race ... you're a male chauvinist.
If you stay home and do the housework ... you're a pansy.

If you work too hard ... there's never any time for her.
If you don't work enough ... you're a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay ... this is exploitation.
If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay ... you should get off your lazy behind and find something better.

If you get a promotion ahead of her ... that is favoritism.
If she gets a job ahead of you ... its equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks ... its sexual harassment.
If you keep quiet ... its male indifference.

If you cry ... you're a wimp.
If you don't … you're an insensitive bastard.

If you make a decision without consulting her ... you're a chauvinist.
If she makes a decision without consulting you, she's a liberated woman.

If you ask her to do something she doesn't enjoy ... that's domination.
If she asks you ... it's a favor.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear ... you're a pervert.
If you don't ... you're gay.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape ... you're sexist.
If you don't ... you're unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape ... you're vain.
If you don't ... you're a slob.

If you buy her flowers ... you're after something.
If you don't ... you're not thoughtful.

If you're proud of your achievements ... you're full of yourself.
If you don't ... you're not ambitious.

If she has a headache ... she's tired.
If you have a headache ... you don't love her anymore.

If you want it too often ... you're oversexed.
If you don't ... there must be someone else.

Now why do men die first? Because they want to.

If I say I love alan out of the blue. I’m positive that every reader will think that I turned into a gay.

Rest assured, I’m still straight.

There you go, the name ‘alan’ can also be used by women too even though it is like one in a million.

Actually, I saw her album in DDL websites long ago but ignored it because I wasn’t interested in a singer that I have no idea of, and a guy some more. Until a comment by a downloader caught my eye saying something like: “alan does have a entrancing voice, thank you for uploading it”.

I was wondering what is so entrancing about a guy’s voice so I downloaded one of alan’s album out of curiosity. Lo and behold, instead of a guy’s voice, I heard a gal’s voice. That’s when I became interested in her songs. The reason is because she possesses a powerful but gentle voice, not forgetting that she is a beauty too.

She sang both Chinese and Japanese songs, including one of my favorite few years back - 遇见. Although the original singer is 孫燕姿, the one sang by alan isn’t too bad too.

Even though she is not as popular as other J-pop stars, I’m positive that she will become well known one day.

It seems like whatever I do is always wrong, is it wrong for me to shut my old self? One who is always very direct and unforgiving to the current me - who always kept quiet and very forgiving, who always tells himself that someday he will change that attitude of his?

Put yourself in my shoes and you will realize just how much effort I put in from then till now to endure that attitude of yours. You are already 20 this year - an adult. Can't you be more responsible of yourself?

Well whatever, do as you please. Put the blame on me, curse me. Anything! Know that this is how life works - "Do unto others what you want others to do to you; What goes around, comes around."

Until this point, if you still think I am purposely blogging this entry to stab you from the back and now you want to write back with your flames, think again. I am but just pointing out the facts. If you disagree with what I am writing here, just leave.

I'm tired of it already, if you won't change, then there's no point in it anymore.

Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be.

Edited to prevent further misunderstandings.

Smile ; DiamondDust Rebellion

Here's something that we can learn from our 'beloved' PM:

In times of Peril, we must learn to smile. A smile keeps all anxiety and despair at bay.

Father of smiling. (Bapa senyum? :S)

*******

Just finished watching Bleach Movie II : DiamondDust Rebellion - The other Hyōrinmaru
(Credits to you bro, for downloading it =])

Not gonna leak any spoilers this time but this is definitely better than the first movie and umm.. the final battle, is always the best among the rest.

Have a pleasant evening.

Friendster for fakers?

There are times when people ask me "Why is your friendster account inactive?"

I was active in it, but that was many years back.

You see, fakers are everywhere in friendster. All they need to do is to get a picture of a handsome guy or a pretty girl and declaring that it is themselves. That's for most of the cases.

Take this guy for example: = I am a Noob Faker, please click me =

He impersonated one of my friends claiming that the picture is he himself. Well, shame on him.

Before i proceed further, let me state that I am not here to defend my friend or anything. Just that the sight of imposters make me sick, be it a guy or a girl behind the monitor.

You see, the Almighty One above gave each of us a unique appearace and all of us are special in His eyes. We humans tend to judge others by their outer shell only. Because of that, many who are shameful of their outer shell (appearance) had to use others' identity to hide their self-proclaimed shame.

Most people believe that in the internet, you can lie, cheat and fool others. Sure, you can do so as long as you are not caught red-handed. But if you happen to fall into the unlucky category, you are up for more than just your self-proclaimed shame.

In the real world:

Criminal : A person no different from the rest... except that he/she got caught.

In the internet world:

Imposter : A person no different from the rest... except that he/she got caught.

Do you want to be known as an imposter? Think twice, all you imposters out there.

Yeah, I know we are not the first team to break it.

Thinking back those BS3 times when me and 4 KL friends work together to break the fountain.

During those time, it was easy to break the fountain, all you need is a Naix to solo it. It will be
RK3 ( Kah Fei) who will be playing Naix while the remaining 4 of us (alphavam - Kar Choon, Puyo - Nicholas, Tetsujin - Kenneth and nightgaia - me) do whatever we wanted, be it to hunt down enemy heroes or to farm items for Naix.

My usual role will be to play Akasha, harassing and farming at the same time. QoP with Satanic and Butterfly is just so weird.

Once Naix broke the fountain, we will camp at our opponents' spawning ground and.. well, kill any heroes that spawned out.
