Of body tricks and drugs not to take while driving

Not too long ago during one of the cell groups I attend, there’s this sharing on Matthew 7: 7-12.

I find it meaningful and would like to share it here.

Ask, Seek, Knock

7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
(Taken from biblegateway.com)

In life, when we ask God for something. We usually get these 3 answers: Yes, no and wait.

Our father in heaven knows what is best for each and every one of us, just as the scriptures say:

9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Should the answer be yes, Praise God; if the answer is wait, all we have to do is be patient.

And if the answer is no, we should see things on a broader way:

Sometimes, what we are asking might be stone and snake instead of bread and fish. So obviously the answer is no as our Father in heaven wants the best for each of us.

I came across this article about body facts which might be useful to all of us:

1. If your throat tickles, scratch your ear!

“When the nerves in the ear are stimulated, it creates a reflex in the throat that can cause a muscle spasm,” says Scott Schaffer, M.D., president of an ear, nose, and throat specialty center in Gibbsboro, New Jersey. “This spasm relieves the tickle.”

2. Experience supersonic hearing!

If you're stuck chatting up a mumbler at a party, lean in with your right ear. It's better than your left at following the rapid rhythms of speech, according to researchers at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. If, on the other hand, you're trying to identify that song playing softly in the elevator, turn your left ear toward the sound. The left ear is better at picking up music tones.

3. Overcome your most primal urge!

Need to pee? No bathroom nearby? You are male? Then fantasize...
Thinking about sex preoccupies your brain, so you won't feel as much discomfort, says Larry Lipshultz, M.D., chief of male reproductive medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine.

4. Feel no pain!

German researchers have discovered that coughing during an injection can lessen the pain of the needle stick. According to Taras Usichenko, author of a study on the phenomenon, the trick causes a sudden, temporary rise in pressure in the chest and spinal canal, inhibiting the painconducting structures of the spinal cord.

5. Clear your stuffed nose!

The easiest, quickest, and cheapest way to relieve sinus pressure is to alternately thrust your tongue against the roof of your mouth, then press between your eyebrows with one finger. This causes the vomer bone, which runs through the nasal passages to the mouth, to rock back and forth, says Lisa DeStefano, D.O., an assistant professor at the Michigan State University College of osteopathic medicine. The motion loosens congestion; After 20 seconds, you'll feel your sinuses start to drain.

6. Fight fire without water!

Studies have shown that patients who sleep on their left sides are less likely to suffer from acid reflux. The esophagus and stomach connect at an angle.
When you sleep on your right, the stomach is higher than the esophagus, allowing food and stomach acid to slide up your throat. When you're on your left, the stomach is lower than the esophagus, so gravity's in your favor.

7. Cure your toothache without opening your mouth!

Just rub ice on the back of your hand, on the V-shaped webbed area between your thumb and index finger. A Canadian study found that this technique reduces toothache pain by as much as 50 percent compared with using no ice. The nerve pathways at the base of that V stimulate an area of the brain that blocks pain signals from the face and hands.

8. Make burns disappear!

When you accidentally singe your finger on the stove, clean the skin and apply light pressure with the finger pads of your unmarred hand. Ice will relieve your pain more quickly, Dr. DeStefano says, but since the natural method brings the burned skin back to a normal temperature, the skin is less likely to blister.

9. Stop the world from spinning!

One too many drinks left you dizzy? Put your hand on something stable. The part of your ear responsible for balance, the cupula, floats in a fluid of the same density as blood.
“As alcohol dilutes blood in the cupula, the cupula becomes less dense and rises,” says Dr. Schaffer. This confuses your brain. The tactile input from a stable object gives the brain a second opinion, and you feel more in balance. Because the nerves in the hand are so sensitive, this works better than the conventional foot-on-the-floor wisdom.

10. Unstitch your side!

If you're like most people, when you run, you exhale as your right foot hits the ground.
This puts downward pressure on your liver (which lives on your right side), which then tugs at the diaphragm and creates a side stitch, according to The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Men. The fix: Exhale as your left foot strikes the ground.

11. Stanch blood with a single finger!

Pinching your nose and leaning back is a great way to stop a nosebleed if you don't mind choking on your own O positive. A more civil approach: Put some cotton on your upper gums just behind that small dent below your nose and press against it, hard.
“Most bleeds come from the front of the septum, the cartilage wall that divides the nose,” says Peter Desmarais, M.D., an ear, nose, and throat specialist at Entabeni Hospital, in Durban, South Africa. “Pressing here helps stop them.”

12. Make your heart stand still!

Trying to quell first date jitters? Blow on your thumb. The vagus nerve, which governs heart rate, can be controlled through breathing, says Ben Abo, an emergency medical services specialist at the University of Pittsburgh. It'll get your heart rate back to normal.

13. Thaw your brain!

Too much ice-cream too fast will freeze the brains of lesser men. As for you, press your tongue flat against the roof of your mouth, covering as much as you can. “Since the nerves in the roof of your mouth get extremely cold, your body thinks your brain is freezing, too,” says Abo. “In compensating, it overheats, causing an ice-cream headache.” The more pressure you apply to the roof of your mouth, the faster your headache will subside.

14. Prevent nearsightedness!

Poor distance vision is rarely caused by genetics, says Anne Barber, O.D., an optometrist in Tacoma, Washington. “It's usually caused by nearpoint stress.” In other words, staring at your computer screen for too long. So flex your way to 20/20 vision. Every few hours during the day, close your eyes, tense your body, take a deep breath, and, after a few seconds, release your breath and muscles at the same time. Tightening and releasing muscles such as the biceps and glutes can trick involuntary muscles like
the eyes into relaxing as well.

15. Wake the dead!

If your hand falls asleep while you're driving or sitting in an odd position, rock your head from side to side. It'll painlessly banish your pins and needles in less than a minute, says Dr. DeStefano. A tingly hand or arm is often the result of compression in the bundle of nerves in your neck; Loosening your neck muscles releases the pressure. Compressed nerves lower in the body govern the feet, so don't let your sleeping dogs lie. Stand up and walk around.

16. Impress your friends!

Next time you're at a party, try this trick: Have a person hold one arm straight out to the side, palm down, and instruct him to maintain this position. Then place two fingers on his wrist and push down. He'll resist. Now have him put one foot on a surface that's a half inch higher (a few magazines) and repeat. This time his arm will cave like the French. By misaligning his hips, you've offset his spine, says Rachel Cosgrove, C.S.C.S., co-owner of Results Fitness, in Santa Clarita, California. Your brain senses that the spine is vulnerable, so it shuts down the body's ability to resist.

17. Breathe underwater!

If you're dying to retrieve that quarter from the bottom of the pool, take several short breaths first essentially, hyperventilate. When you're underwater, it's not a lack of oxygen that makes you desperate for a breath; It’s the buildup of carbon dioxide, which makes your blood acidic, which signals your brain that somethin' ain't right. “When you hyperventilate, the influx of oxygen lowers blood acidity,” says Jonathan Armbruster, Ph.D., an associate professor of biology at Auburn University. “This tricks your brain into thinking it has more oxygen.” It'll buy you up to 10 seconds.

18. Read minds!

Your own! “If you're giving a speech the next day, review it before falling asleep,” says Candi Heimgartner, an instructor of biological sciences at the University of Idaho. Since most memory consolidation happens during sleep, anything you read right before bed is more likely to be encoded as long-term memory.

Note: Some of them actually work, not sure about the rest though.

Road accident

Girl girl, few days ago you asked me to update my mushroom-grown blog.

But I had nothing to blog about, until today (past 12am).

Road accidents, how do they happen?
Until now I still don’t know, do you?

This is my tale, my first accident right after my probation period ended, first hand.

*******

It began this evening when I went to watch Transformers 2: ROTF with Steven, Annie, Angel and Dayang. As usual, I asked and pray for journey-mercy each time I leave home. All went well, the movie was nice but the ending is not as good as I expected (just the end). Overall, I’d give it an 8.5/10.

So instead of staying back to ‘limteh’ and hang out with the rest, I went home immediately. And again, all went well while I was driving UNTIL I reached the cross road near my housing area. (The road from Jalan Song to Tabuan Laru)

Green lights, I drove on.

A car stormed my way, the moment I noticed it, it was too late already. So I tried to avoid it but still, it was in vain…

CRASH! That was all I heard. The car had already rammed directly unto the driver’s side. (Right side)

I lose all my senses, touching, hearing, and feeling. My car was spinning; I thought that would be the end of me. But NO! After my car came to a stop, then only did I realize that I am still breathing so I began to panic and tried to recall what is happening…

So I was driving home and there’s this car that appeared out from nowhere and rammed unto me. I am ‘awarded’ a sort-of-merry-go-round spin for at least 1 or 2 rounds before my car came to a stop. (Just like those you see in the movies, but this one happens to me)

3 men came to me while I tried to open my car’s door. But no matter how hard I try, I just couldn’t open the door. While stuck inside the car, this conversation took place (in Hokkien) :

Them: "Are you ok?"

Me: "Why did you crash on my car?"

Them: "Not us, (Pointing to the dented Kancil) That’s the car that crash unto you. We are just here to see whether you are ok or not."

Me: (Dazed) "I can’t get out from the car."

Them: "Use the other side." (Why didn’t I think of it?)

After I got out of the car, I was overflowed with nervousness and worry. Knowing that the damage is serious, I immediately called my dad while they told me not to worry and not to pick any problems with the other party. Also, they keep saying that as long as I am uninjured, all is well…

The other party came (a young guy, probably in his 20s or 30s) and apologized to me, asking me if I am ok or not. I can’t say much, since I am still stunned by what is currently happening to me…

Dad arrived few moments later after receiving my call telling him that I had an accident. (Sorry mum and dad for making you worried…)

We proceed to lodge a police report before heading home.

*******

Now you might ask, what is the use of praying for journey-mercy if I met an accident anyway?

That was what I questioned myself just now. Instead of being upset with God, I should be grateful.

Many people kept saying ‘Count your blessings’. Today’s the day I fully understand that phrase.

Those guys who came to help or observe mentioned that if I am late for maybe a split-second, I would be in deep trouble since the car will ram unto the driver’s seat and probably kill me off. Imagine the amount of momentum inflicted to make my car spin for a few rounds and its a Kancil that rammed me.

Thank God and praise God.

Then again, if I still had my ‘P’ or probation on, I’d be in deep shit. But no, few days ago, my probation period came to an end and I got my new driving license.

Again, Thank God and praise God.

I came out of the accident in one piece, still alive and breathing, still able to walk, still able to swing my arms around and stretch myself, with the exception of a few bruises on my arm and leg and also a shock of my life. Maybe there are some internal injuries? I don’t know, it’s not visible to the naked eye so maybe I’ll go for a medical checkup later…

So once again, Thank God and praise God.

Who says that watching a movie at movie day is cheap? That movie cost me a figure starting from 'thousand' now. Sigh…

P.S: I was too nervous and worried to even bother to take a picture of my car’s current state… So there won’t be any pictures. Maybe it might appear in the news later?

Another entry

I’ve got so much to blog but I guess I’ll just summarize things up in case those who came to read doze off reading halfway…

*******

*Few years back*

There’s this drama that caught my attention, a fairly old one. Known as “Hana Kimi” by many, the story is mainly about a girl dressed up as a guy to enter an all-boys school.

I first know of the Taiwan version and to be honest, that drama is a major turnoff for me. Watched 2 episodes and deleted the rest with the reason that the drama is plain boring.

*Fast forward to the year 2009*

After having dinner at my grandparent’s house on 1 of the CNY nights, I join my uncles watching TV programs and saw the same drama that I disliked few years back. But since the rest of the channels are still broadcasting advertisement, I decided to just watch Hana Kimi again.

Halfway through the show, I was wondering how come majority of the actors are Japanese? Then only I realized that there’s also a Japanese version.

Now, the Japanese version is so much better than the Taiwan version in many ways and I’m sure those who have watched it will agree with me too.

A million thanks to SARS for doing all the subbing for Hana Kimi. Go visit their website -here-

*******

Once again, Dell’s customer service never failed to amaze me.

Few months ago, I gave them a call requesting them to send a technician to service my notebook (because the hinge joining the notebook and the LCD screen is shaky + the media buttons are not really functioning well).

That afternoon, the technician came and dismantled my notebook. I got nervous since this is the first time I serviced my notebook. I know this is stupid but I did pray in my heart that nothing will go wrong as I see so many tiny components being taken out.

After that, the technician took out 2 boxes of components. Then only I realized that he is not going to repair it but rather to replace the old with the new.

While replacing the components, the technician (better known as an engineer) explained that the warranty covers all of the notebook’s components except the battery and the AC adapter. That is fine with me since I got my new battery and my adapter is functioning normally.

*******

My new semester started and much has happened, both pleasant and unpleasant… I started driving to Swinburne this semester and to be honest, I was nervous as I rarely drive (maybe a few times in a week, with my dad supervising). Luckily all is well, no accidents or anything bad that could have happened to a driver.

Then we had parties for our friends who are reaching 21 years old and my wallet was bleeding non-stop. It was kinda hectic but I like the parties, and don’t mind paying as long as I am not the one organizing it.

Then for the 1st time I see this guy who is a two-timer, probably the worst of the worst two-timer. I have much to say about you, calling you names, spreading word of your pathetic character and even more. But doing so won’t benefit me in any way, and doing so wouldn’t heal the wounds that you had inflicted.

Law of Close Encounters: The probability of meeting someone you know increases when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.

I have no need of further explanations.

*******

Before I end this entry, I’d like to share this with all of you:

The Rules For Being Human

1. You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period of this time around.

2. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called Life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error: Experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works”.

4. A lesson is repeated until learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6. “There” is no better than “here”.
When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here”.

7. Others are merely mirrors of you.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie inside you.
The answers to Life’s questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

10. You will forget this.

Thank you God

Again, let me share a joke with all of you before I proceed with monotone droning...

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Why did the chicken cross the road? We asked a variety of people about this:

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN McCAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS (KFC): Did I miss one? Damn.

*******

I went to Genting last week. To be honest, I wasn’t in the mood to go anywhere because I am very worried and nervous of my results. But since my dad said that we should at least visit Genting once, I tagged along.

We used AirAsia to KL, and guess what? First they re-timed our flight from 11am to 1pm, never mind that. They told us to go to Gate 1 to board the plane, when we reach gate 1, the person in charge told us that it has changed to Gate 7.

So there we are, waiting at gate 7 till near-boarding time when there’s another announcement telling all the passengers that the boarding gate has changed to Gate 1 again. I’m sure I heard one American saying “What the hell?” loudly. Lol.

Reaching Genting, it’s almost 6.30p.m.

Here’s a view of the hotel we are staying at.

Then we visited the casinos, there are everywhere. The sad thing is, I cannot enter!

I’ve no idea when police are enforced to guard the entrance. There used to be no police at all, as long as you have money, you can go in. So suay lor..

One of the casinos

The garden (taken at the restaurant providing breakfast)

Next morning, I wasn’t in the mood to enjoy myself at the theme park so I gave excuses not to go in. I mean, how can you enjoy yourself while your worries are completely focused on your results right? You wouldn’t enjoy the theme park anymore and going in would be a waste.

Other pics are with my dad, will take from him some time later...

*******

Results were released today. If you see me blogging here, it’s got to be good news or else there will be no new entry from me…

I prayed again and again hoping that I would pass because I did not do well in 2 out of the 3 subjects. So in the end I get:

Distinction for Energy and Motion
Pass for Mechanics of Structure and
Pass for Engineering Mathematics I

Ok, I’m not the only one being ecstatic here. I’ve seen other’s results and they did fine too… I guess this will be a good CNY for everyone…

P.S: I’m not trying to say that by not studying hard and just praying, you can get what you want. Always remember that if you want God to help you, help yourself first.

The Importance of Chinese (language)

Before I begin, let me share a joke with all of you.

Hit my Head

An old blacksmith realized he was soon going to quit working so hard. He picked out a strong young man to become his apprentice.

The old fellow was crabby and exacting. "Don't ask me a lot of questions," he told the boy. "Just do whatever I tell you to do."

One day the old blacksmith took an iron out of the forge and laid it on the anvil. "Get the hammer over there," he said. "When I nod my head, hit it real good and hard."

Now the town is looking for a new blacksmith.

*******

I flunked Chinese ever since I step into secondary school and thought that I can go on with basic knowledge of Chinese (know how to speak, don’t know how to read or write)

Everything went well until today when I tried ZhuXian online. Everything is in Chinese, so that leaves me no choice but to follow my instincts (leave the town, and target the nearest monster to lvl up) and to find a ‘warehouse’ where you store items, always look for the place where many shops gathered.

All the quests are in Chinese too, makes me go @@ when I attempt to read the quest information. Luckily for most of the quests, they highlight the keywords and by clicking on those keywords, your character will automatically move to the location described.

Oh well..

*******

So.. I spent most of my holiday downloading games and more games (both old and new) thanks to RapidShare and MegaUpload.

I’ve downloaded:

Call of Duty 5,

Baldur’s Gate I & II,

Doom 3,

Sins of the Solar Empire,

Bejeweled Twist,

Luxor – Quest for the Afterlife,

Off-World Resource Base,

and a few more that I had forgotten. Of course, not all the games downloaded will actually work flawlessly. For example COD5, No matter what I did, the game always crashes in mission 3. Troubleshooting tells me that the problem lies in my graphic card’s driver. Nothing I can do with it so that’s one game down. Loss: 1 weeks time.

Then there’s Baldur’s Gate, the storyline and quests are abundant but the gameplay just doesn’t suit me. So that’s 1 weeks time wasted (again.)

The doom 3 I downloaded was pre-installed and ready to play, that’s good since it will save me time by skipping the installation process. But somewhere through the game, 1 mission is corrupted and makes the game unplayable. Sigh...

The rest are working fine (luckily).

*******

Christmas is probably the day I longed for every year.

But then many people tend to forget that Christmas is all about celebration and Santa. Well, it’s kinda wrong IMO. Christmas for celebration, that’s fine with me. But with Santa taking over the birth of Jesus Christ, we lost the true meaning in celebrating Christmas you see… anyway, that’s just my viewpoint.

*******

Before you read on, this part is not purposely meant for anyone as it only serves as a reminder to all of us.

This is for those who think that their life sucks and hating themselves, intending to end their life as quickly as possible:

Be thankful that you are living a normal and blessed life, with no physical defects on yourself. Just think of the people out there without a proper home to shelter them and those with physical deformities from birth.

If you intend to complain about your current life, just think of how many who are more than willing to trade with you.

I'll stop here for now. Thanks for reading...

Blog hopping

Sometimes out of boredom, I usually lurk in forums, download sites (with good old google) and blogs.

So, I started with Ah Jen's blog (randomly), scanned through her friend list and decided to visit Aurelia's blog. After reading the latest entry, I'll scan through her friend list and pick one of them randomly (yes I know this is a bad habit of mine).

Then I noticed Annie's blog, hopping to Amy's blog and Angel's blog. Finally stopping by Salim and Jason's blog. (didn't know they had blogs too.. I guess blogging really became popular)

Will re-organize my friend list after the finals..

Just now, Dad asked us a question:

What do we have on our bodies that Adam and Eve don't have?

After much guessing, we gave up.

Being a sporty person, I'll let you readers give a guess before scrolling down. =D

Here's a good chance to guess what we have that our ancestors don't have, don't tempt yourself and scroll down!

Oh and for all the couples out there. Be careful not to piss your bf/gf (bf usually) off if you want to break up with him. I can understand how he feels

The reason I said this is because there's one guy who is taking revenge on his ex-girlfriend by creating a website that will show her ex-girlfriend's nude photos and asking the public to spread the 'good' news to others.

For every number of fowarding, more and more 'revealing' pictures will appear on the website for the current user.

I'm sure some of you out there already saw the link since the link was fowarded to me hours ago via MSN messenger.

But as a saying goes: Curiosity kills the cat. So I ignored it assuming it's another MSN virus until a friend of mine took quite some time pursuading me that it's not a virus.

The link is valid but I'm not sharing the link here even though this is going against my policy of: We must share all the good things together. (applies for guys only)

I'm not being selfish, this part of the entry is just to serve as a warning to the readers out there :)

Mini-update

Did anyone notice that Swinburne removes all restrictions on web surfing today? One of my friends said that it is because the Board of Engineers are visiting Swinburne so they are trying to give a good impression. Or that’s how it goes.

Typical.

*******

Yesterday morning, I injured myself by ramming onto a door. Sounds weird right? Who in his/her right mind would do that you ask?

Actually, it was an accident. I opened the door but somehow the door moved by itself (as if someone is closing the door) and WHAM!

Ouch..

At that very moment, I cursed the door for closing by itself even though it was entirely my fault for not being vigilant.

Believe it or not, the 1st thing in mind will usually be putting the blame on others before putting it on ourselves. Here I relate to a minor accident that happened many months ago outside my house.

One youngster is reversing his car and rammed onto a passive lorry parked nearby. Guess what? He put the blame on the lorry’s owner for parking his lorry on that certain spot. Of course, that youngster is no normal youngster, if provoked; he'll call his ‘brothers’ to ‘settle’ with the lorry owner. Being a smart person, the lorry owner paid that youngster the fee for car repairs.

There we have it:

This is how life works.

Mumble jumble

Hmm.. I wonder how should I start this entry...

I've finished watching 倚天屠龍記 2003 not too long ago. The storyline is ok but the ending is just so-so only (disappointed lah, obviously). This tale is the continuation of 神雕侠侣 that I watched few months back.

Now for those BS 3 fans out there, rejoice! For Blueserver will be back soon, not as BS 4 but as UC - Pro. More information -here-

No one can deny the passing of time. Even the hardest rock gets worn down from continuous weathering, what else to say of our humanistic character and personality? Yes, they will change with time too. Be it for the better good or the opposite, that is what we have chosen.

Anyway, I found this in campus while hopping from website to website. Yes I know I should be studying only and not surfing the internet but we must balance our lifestyle mah. Got study then got play right?

Lessons in life

How does it feel now, that you did not get zero for your MOS test 1..? Who will shoulder the blame now? Who is the one at fault now?

Now do you understand why I said that you are always jumping into conclusion and worrying over something that won’t happen?

I am tempted to be very sarcastic now, but I'll just let that thought slip unless provoked. For now.

Comments not needed therefore disabled, just spare a few moment and ponder about it yourself.

Forgiven n' forgotten

Thoughts to self: I wish I will only live till the age of 70. Losing control of your own body is a very scary thought indeed.

Speaking of that…

Why do men die first? This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries, but now we know. It requires a bit of explanation, first:

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race ... you're a male chauvinist.
If you stay home and do the housework ... you're a pansy.

If you work too hard ... there's never any time for her.
If you don't work enough ... you're a good-for-nothing bum.

If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay ... this is exploitation.
If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay ... you should get off your lazy behind and find something better.

If you get a promotion ahead of her ... that is favoritism.
If she gets a job ahead of you ... its equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks ... its sexual harassment.
If you keep quiet ... its male indifference.

If you cry ... you're a wimp.
If you don't … you're an insensitive bastard.

If you make a decision without consulting her ... you're a chauvinist.
If she makes a decision without consulting you, she's a liberated woman.

If you ask her to do something she doesn't enjoy ... that's domination.
If she asks you ... it's a favor.

If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear ... you're a pervert.
If you don't ... you're gay.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape ... you're sexist.
If you don't ... you're unromantic.

If you try to keep yourself in shape ... you're vain.
If you don't ... you're a slob.

If you buy her flowers ... you're after something.
If you don't ... you're not thoughtful.

If you're proud of your achievements ... you're full of yourself.
If you don't ... you're not ambitious.

If she has a headache ... she's tired.
If you have a headache ... you don't love her anymore.

If you want it too often ... you're oversexed.
If you don't ... there must be someone else.

Now why do men die first? Because they want to.

If I say I love alan out of the blue. I’m positive that every reader will think that I turned into a gay.

Rest assured, I’m still straight.

There you go, the name ‘alan’ can also be used by women too even though it is like one in a million.

Actually, I saw her album in DDL websites long ago but ignored it because I wasn’t interested in a singer that I have no idea of, and a guy some more. Until a comment by a downloader caught my eye saying something like: “alan does have a entrancing voice, thank you for uploading it”.

I was wondering what is so entrancing about a guy’s voice so I downloaded one of alan’s album out of curiosity. Lo and behold, instead of a guy’s voice, I heard a gal’s voice. That’s when I became interested in her songs. The reason is because she possesses a powerful but gentle voice, not forgetting that she is a beauty too.

She sang both Chinese and Japanese songs, including one of my favorite few years back - 遇见. Although the original singer is 孫燕姿, the one sang by alan isn’t too bad too.

Even though she is not as popular as other J-pop stars, I’m positive that she will become well known one day.

It seems like whatever I do is always wrong, is it wrong for me to shut my old self? One who is always very direct and unforgiving to the current me - who always kept quiet and very forgiving, who always tells himself that someday he will change that attitude of his?

Put yourself in my shoes and you will realize just how much effort I put in from then till now to endure that attitude of yours. You are already 20 this year - an adult. Can't you be more responsible of yourself?

Well whatever, do as you please. Put the blame on me, curse me. Anything! Know that this is how life works - "Do unto others what you want others to do to you; What goes around, comes around."

Until this point, if you still think I am purposely blogging this entry to stab you from the back and now you want to write back with your flames, think again. I am but just pointing out the facts. If you disagree with what I am writing here, just leave.

I'm tired of it already, if you won't change, then there's no point in it anymore.

Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be.

Edited to prevent further misunderstandings.

Smile ; DiamondDust Rebellion

Here's something that we can learn from our 'beloved' PM:

In times of Peril, we must learn to smile. A smile keeps all anxiety and despair at bay.

Father of smiling. (Bapa senyum? :S)

*******

Just finished watching Bleach Movie II : DiamondDust Rebellion - The other Hyōrinmaru
(Credits to you bro, for downloading it =])

Not gonna leak any spoilers this time but this is definitely better than the first movie and umm.. the final battle, is always the best among the rest.

Have a pleasant evening.

Friendster for fakers?

There are times when people ask me "Why is your friendster account inactive?"

I was active in it, but that was many years back.

You see, fakers are everywhere in friendster. All they need to do is to get a picture of a handsome guy or a pretty girl and declaring that it is themselves. That's for most of the cases.

Take this guy for example: = I am a Noob Faker, please click me =

He impersonated one of my friends claiming that the picture is he himself. Well, shame on him.

Before i proceed further, let me state that I am not here to defend my friend or anything. Just that the sight of imposters make me sick, be it a guy or a girl behind the monitor.

You see, the Almighty One above gave each of us a unique appearace and all of us are special in His eyes. We humans tend to judge others by their outer shell only. Because of that, many who are shameful of their outer shell (appearance) had to use others' identity to hide their self-proclaimed shame.

Most people believe that in the internet, you can lie, cheat and fool others. Sure, you can do so as long as you are not caught red-handed. But if you happen to fall into the unlucky category, you are up for more than just your self-proclaimed shame.

In the real world:

Criminal : A person no different from the rest... except that he/she got caught.

In the internet world:

Imposter : A person no different from the rest... except that he/she got caught.

Do you want to be known as an imposter? Think twice, all you imposters out there.

Morning-mare

My physics teacher once said to our class:

In the exam hall, if you crack your brains and still have no idea how to answer the questions, look around you. There will be 2 cases:

Case 1:
If everyone around you looks clueless, that’s a good sign because nobody knows how to answer the questions.

Case 2:
Always pray and hope that this will never happen; if you are the only one who is clueless while the rest are writing furiously on their answer sheet, that’s a bad sign because you know that you are screwed. Die lah!

***********

EM1 is over.

Presenting the Bosu -> Chut Su -> Chiu

Before entering the exam hall:

BoSu~!

In the exam hall, flipping through the question sheets; something is very wrong here…:

Chut Su!!

Exam ended, everyone is leaving the exam hall; gather up with friends and ask around:

Chiu~!!

How was the exam guys?
The only assuarance I have, at least I know that I am not alone...

Where is my turning point?

I know I should be studying now but… When finals are closing up, people like me usually lose the mood to study. I’m always tempted to do anything except burying myself with books.

This world is so unfair, why don’t we have computer games for finals? I’m sure majority of the students will be very pleased if such is implied into the syllabus.

For the leaders of the future, yes?

Ok, back to reality. If you don’t study, you fail. No matter how much I hate studying, I still force myself to do so.

***********

Words spoken can never be retrieved back,
Actions done can never be undone.

Friendship is like a rubber band, there’s no end in it.

You play with it by stretching it and its elasticity will always return it back to its original shape. Sometimes, stretching it too much or too many times will cause that rubber band to break, no longer holding its original shape.

If you feel like it, you tie both ends of the rubber band so that it becomes whole again, but of course, it will never be a perfect one like it used to be.

Conflicts that happen between friends is like a person stretching a rubber band. When you stretch it, you are applying stress unto it. There is always a invisible limit in friendship unlike the rubber band, whose limit is clearly shown.

Applying too much stress unto it will cause it to break. Once it breaks, thus ending the friendship between those who are involved. Such is the mistake of humans, who rarely consider the effect of his/her actions.

There are times when regrets overcome you; there are times when telling yourself “time will heal everythingdoes not work anymore, you will usually let go of your pride and find ways to befriend the friend you lost. Such is when a person ties up the broken ends of the rubber band. But then, how many people in this world are willing to do so, especially guys?

..:::Attention:::..
Before any misunderstandings happen again, I’ll declare that this post is a neutral post, I am not flaming anyone indirectly. Those words above kept appearing in my head be it when I’m studying or not these few days so I thought to leave it here.

Life goes on

Before continuing my entry, I apologize for letting my dark self out accidently this afternoon due to some misunderstandings…

As you read on, don’t get me wrong, I am not flaming anyone in particular as I never had any grudge against any of you.

***********

The newcomers, many as they are, most were common, but a selected few were special in ones eye.

Friendships are brittle. It takes years to form a strong bond, yet it only requires one mistake done on impulse to completely damage it to the point of no return.

It’s true that wounds do heal over a long period of time. But then the part that is wounded will never be the same again as a patch of scar will replace it.

Why the pointing of a blind finger?

If things get worse, this happens:

Middle finger of the apocalypse

Where is the trust that we once had for each other?

**********

We felt the distance between us getting wider and wider apart as each day passes by. If you have decided to choose a girl over us, I have no objections; I have no jealousy at all even though one by one, each of you are leaving our usual gang to spread your wings.

To be honest, I don’t mind our gang to be a stepping stone for the greater good, your greater good.

In fact I wish the best for you. Though saying so, that does not mean I represent our group in what I said above.

***********

I know the risk of writing this part in my blog entry, but it should be safe because only a few friends know the existence of this blog.

It’s too late when I realize how dangerous it is when you get close to a person.

Just as I told myself that I will never ever have special feelings for another girl for no reason, it just happens again, all by itself.

When did it began, I am unsure myself. One thing for sure, I will not make any rash decision only to regret later.

I made her my god sister and she accepted without knowing anything, it is the best way for now. This will probably be the limit as I am positive that none will ever accept the fact that this is happening...

Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)

Dear Friend,

Today,

You spread your hidden wings and soar up unto the azure skies with your beloved one...

I believed many of us are reluctant of your departure; a few are even angered by your actions. But then there’s no point to hold you back as you know what is best for yourself.

The remaining few of us will just gaze at the clear azure skies.

Even though the path ahead the both of you is long and might even be harsh too but as long as both of you promise to help each other in times of peril and overlooking the faults of the other, there will be no difficulties that can bring you down.

As for me, I wish all the best to you.

Persevere and prevail,

NightGaia

No doubt teenagers of my age group had experienced love. Most are reluctant to tell their peers of their failure but there are some who willingly spill it out with the condition of the one listening is their one of their ‘close friends’.

As for those who are reluctant to talk of their failures… no worries, Mr. Alcohol is your best friend. Feed him/her with it and you won’t be able to catch everything they are going to blurt in time.

For me, I did experience such kind of feelings before. That is where I realized my weakness. For that, I never have feelings for girls randomly. This is the reason why, my friends, I always said no even though majority of you all said yes.

For those reading my blog, no worries, I’m not turning gay. I’m still the same straight guy you knew of, just being very strict with myself only.

No doubt my weakness is the difficulty or rather the unwillingness to forget and let go. Once I really really love a certain girl, I can openly declare that no friends of mine can change my mind by saying all the bad things about her, not even my parents. I know that this is a selfish attitude, but this is just how it works for me…

After all, loving a certain someone is accepting them whole-heartedly, purposely overlooking their short-falls and faults. Treasuring and staying loyal to each other.

Someone once told me that: You don’t have to place any worries about love, you just fall into it naturally. This is how the phrase ‘falling in love’ came from.

My parents were right about this: Developing the feelings of love is like watching over a young shoot. Too much water, sunlight or fertilizer is fatal to the young shoot, so is the same with insufficient water, sunlight or fertilizer. As it is fatal to the young shoot, so is it fatal to relationships you are engaged in.

But if we nurture it daily with the right amount of water and giving it enough sunlight, feeding it with fertilizer sometimes and showering it with your time and attention, it will grow into a very strong tree. From there, you get a very stable relationship that you and your partner will never regret.

Good luck guys!

As usual, I punch monsters to rank up my skill level until someone told me that using combo to level skills is way faster than punching. Out of curiosity, I tried out her way of leveling skills.

She's right about it. It usually takes around 10~12 minutes to level up a skill level, but with combos, it only takes around 5~7 minutes at most.

Thats the most I can do for now.

This guy got owned by chaos lamps.

Mid-term assessment is just around the corner and what am I doing right now?

Still blogging.Definitely not studying right now.

I’ll be in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trouble if I don’t start burning midnight oil and study.

*******

The recent intake (March intake) did not disappoint my group of friends unlike those previous intakes. There are lots of new faces and most importantly, lots of beauties aka leng lui.

Some said that they are going to take the initiative to court while some prefer to just admire the girls. As for me… I’ll stay single, for now. Don’t ask me why.

One of us was given a chance to prove himself, but somehow things didn’t work out smoothly. It’s a waste IMO. The path is cleared for him yet he didn’t set foot on it but turned back instead.

Such ‘accidents’ don’t happen always so treasure your chances if you have it.

If you fail, don’t get all gloomy about it. Instead, move on with life. All of us are still young; there are still a lot of chances ahead of us.

Also, they did comment that a couple of girls have similar faces. Speaking of similar faces, does she look like someone you guys know?

Disclaimer: I’m not flaming anyone, just leaving a entry of my own thoughts.
