Road accident

Girl girl, few days ago you asked me to update my mushroom-grown blog.

But I had nothing to blog about, until today (past 12am).

Road accidents, how do they happen?
Until now I still don’t know, do you?

This is my tale, my first accident right after my probation period ended, first hand.

*******

It began this evening when I went to watch Transformers 2: ROTF with Steven, Annie, Angel and Dayang. As usual, I asked and pray for journey-mercy each time I leave home. All went well, the movie was nice but the ending is not as good as I expected (just the end). Overall, I’d give it an 8.5/10.

So instead of staying back to ‘limteh’ and hang out with the rest, I went home immediately. And again, all went well while I was driving UNTIL I reached the cross road near my housing area. (The road from Jalan Song to Tabuan Laru)

Green lights, I drove on.

A car stormed my way, the moment I noticed it, it was too late already. So I tried to avoid it but still, it was in vain…

CRASH! That was all I heard. The car had already rammed directly unto the driver’s side. (Right side)

I lose all my senses, touching, hearing, and feeling. My car was spinning; I thought that would be the end of me. But NO! After my car came to a stop, then only did I realize that I am still breathing so I began to panic and tried to recall what is happening…

So I was driving home and there’s this car that appeared out from nowhere and rammed unto me. I am ‘awarded’ a sort-of-merry-go-round spin for at least 1 or 2 rounds before my car came to a stop. (Just like those you see in the movies, but this one happens to me)

3 men came to me while I tried to open my car’s door. But no matter how hard I try, I just couldn’t open the door. While stuck inside the car, this conversation took place (in Hokkien) :

Them: "Are you ok?"

Me: "Why did you crash on my car?"

Them: "Not us, (Pointing to the dented Kancil) That’s the car that crash unto you. We are just here to see whether you are ok or not."

Me: (Dazed) "I can’t get out from the car."

Them: "Use the other side." (Why didn’t I think of it?)

After I got out of the car, I was overflowed with nervousness and worry. Knowing that the damage is serious, I immediately called my dad while they told me not to worry and not to pick any problems with the other party. Also, they keep saying that as long as I am uninjured, all is well…

The other party came (a young guy, probably in his 20s or 30s) and apologized to me, asking me if I am ok or not. I can’t say much, since I am still stunned by what is currently happening to me…

Dad arrived few moments later after receiving my call telling him that I had an accident. (Sorry mum and dad for making you worried…)

We proceed to lodge a police report before heading home.

*******

Now you might ask, what is the use of praying for journey-mercy if I met an accident anyway?

That was what I questioned myself just now. Instead of being upset with God, I should be grateful.

Many people kept saying ‘Count your blessings’. Today’s the day I fully understand that phrase.

Those guys who came to help or observe mentioned that if I am late for maybe a split-second, I would be in deep trouble since the car will ram unto the driver’s seat and probably kill me off. Imagine the amount of momentum inflicted to make my car spin for a few rounds and its a Kancil that rammed me.

Thank God and praise God.

Then again, if I still had my ‘P’ or probation on, I’d be in deep shit. But no, few days ago, my probation period came to an end and I got my new driving license.

Again, Thank God and praise God.

I came out of the accident in one piece, still alive and breathing, still able to walk, still able to swing my arms around and stretch myself, with the exception of a few bruises on my arm and leg and also a shock of my life. Maybe there are some internal injuries? I don’t know, it’s not visible to the naked eye so maybe I’ll go for a medical checkup later…

So once again, Thank God and praise God.

Who says that watching a movie at movie day is cheap? That movie cost me a figure starting from 'thousand' now. Sigh…

P.S: I was too nervous and worried to even bother to take a picture of my car’s current state… So there won’t be any pictures. Maybe it might appear in the news later?

Mmm.....

Lots of people celebrating their birthday this month.

*******

Speaking of coincidence...

Few weeks ago I saw someone but I couldn't take SS in time, or rather, I have no idea how to take a SS.

Today, I pressed almost all the keys on the keyboard and finally found the key to take a SS.

Nostalgic..

That char is prolly his/her 2nd char as I saw SummerLove few weeks ago.

Anyway, that person is not the SummerLove I know of; just someone else with the same ID.

The four seasons, Part II

I’ve started to use the chat program – mIRC that I had ignored all these years. Not for chatting but for high speed anime downloading. I never knew that such programs could be useful if torrent fails your targeted speed.

Are there any other uses for ICQ (I seek you) ?

*******

Regarding The four seasons, I was right about meeting another part of the four seasons. Just that it is not in order.

4 years ago, I met Summer. She was the one who taught me about love.

1 year ago, I met Autumn. She has changed much since.

And today, I met Spring. Accidentally. She happened to be someone important to me.

I was wondering when I will be meeting Winter... I'll gladly stop at Spring. IF that is possible.

Oh ya, Kenny Sia came to Swinburne today. Was told that he came to give a talk on Business issues if not mistaken. Didn't get to see him in person, not that I mind anyway.

Saturday Night Fever

After today, I won't be seeing her in msn for like 2 weeks. Good luck in your coming Mock STPM my friend.

Oh well, here comes Mr. Lonely =/

We celebrated Zhi Wei’s birthday 6 days earlier at Pizza Hut. Too bad Chen couldn't make it. I think everyone know what I mean by that...

There are around 20+ people who attended the birthday party. Firstly we have to thank Ah Seng and those involved for booking the tables for the 20+ people attending.

Money is still everything. Don't ask me why.

Somewhere around 7pm sharp, we arranged for the birthday boy to sit face to face with a certain someone. But then, Jeffrey called and gave us the bad news saying that the VIP is not coming. Disappointed as we are (not as serious as Zhi Wei.. xD) nobody bothered about the sitting positions anymore. Moments later, more people arrived.

Jeffrey was the last to arrive, but nobody blamed him. Everyone agreed that he took his sweet time driving the girls to Pizza Hut. The VIP was with him too. It turned out that Jeffrey told a lie, for a greater cause of course. But then, it had disrupted our original plan. Never mind that, the surprise element is still there. Anyway, it is not wrong to lie, as long as it is for a greater cause. (Lee 2006)

There’s this tiny bottle of pepper sauce, innocent as it looks, contains a hot, fiery, burning and passionate taste unknown to many. That bottle seated itself quietly on the serving tray, waiting to ‘pounce’ on the unwary. To Martin Lu, it is something common for him as he grew up consuming great amount of chili during meals.

Somehow, without knowing, Robert actually brought both the birthday boy and the VIP closer indirectly. I have no idea how it actually started but here’s a rough idea on what is going on:

Robert was challenged by the VIP (or the other way round).

If Robert is able to finish a piece of pizza topped with pepper sauce, the VIP will follow suit.

Robert ‘sacrificed’ his stomach and ate up the pizza; it is the VIP’s turn now.

Of course, everyone or almost everyone present knew that the birthday boy will definitely ‘assist’ the VIP in finishing the piece of pizza topped with more pepper sauce than ever.

Birthday boy is destined to finish the piece of pizza. With so many cameras surrounding him, he had no choice but to resign to fate.

It was time to leave the warm and cozy Pizza Hut.

Originally, we planned to spend the night at Friendship Park. But then there was a light rain so we changed our destination to the poikeeteo or Airport.

Zhi Wei and Dennis raced to the airport. Again, Zhi Wei performed his driving speeding skills but Dennis somehow overtook him and that surprised Kelvin greatly.

Many things happened in the Airport, it will be too long if I write out everything so I’ll just sum them up…:

Speaking of girls going to toilet in groups; all the guys - around 15 went into the toilet at the same time. Some went to answer nature’s call, some went to ‘set’ their hair, some went to chat and some went to fool around.

Again, Jeffrey took his sweet time driving to the Airport.

The young ladies were browsing through one of the chocolate shops. We (guys) knew something is going on so we played our role in their ‘special plan’; Martin performed his distraction skill unto Zhi Wei, taking him for a walk.

After quite some time, they finally decided on a box of chocolates for Zhi Wei and paid for it. Too bad it’s not Valentine’s Day. Nope, they did not give the chocolates to him in unison; it was for the VIP to give it to him. How sweet of them… Haha!

After what seems like hours, the girls managed to persuade the VIP to give the chocolates to Zhi Wei.

Outside, the guys are fooling around with Wei Kiat’s Hilux. That is to perform the so called mini ‘leap of faith’. Here’s an example:

Ok, maybe that is common...

Kolo Mee anyone?

Chen revived his blog around 20 days ago and claims that no one knows about his blog.

Though there are only 2 posts so far, let’s give him a surprise shall we?

Visit his blog
-here-

He seemed ecstatic after getting his blog url back xD

*******

“I’m going out for lunch with Chen later, somewhere around 1130.”

“Where to?”

“Carpenter Street.”

“Sounds good, so what are you having?”

“Kolo Mee.”

*A brief moment of stillness*

Let’s tag along.

Chen, Dennis, Kelvin, Shao Wee, Zhi Wei and I set off to where we agreed to had our lunch earlier – Carpenter Street.

My 1st impression on our destination was just another common eating place with no air-conditioning (take note that I got used to the air-cond in Swinburne and almost could not live without it especially during one sunny afternoon).

Okay, the 6 of us were seated on one of the tables and waited for them to take the order of drinks and of course, food.

10 minutes passed. It sure is strange since the place isn’t large and yet there’s no one taking our orders.

Another 10 minute passed. A few of us began to feel uneasy due to the fiery hot weather.

After another 10 minute passed by, someone came and took our orders for drinks. Nothing tastes better than chilled Sundrop with extra ice cubes. At least we felt rejuvenated. Now for the Kolo Mee…

10 minutes passed. Most of us were very hungry and demanded asked Chen to place our orders. He rejected, saying that it is not a wise choice to do so.

Again another 10 minute passed. We waited patiently as Chen told us that we have to wait for our turn. My glass of sundrop is almost empty.

It seemed like eternity waiting for the next 10 minutes, we were left with some hope though – the spoon, chopsticks and chili with soy sauce were placed on our table and our orders were taken.

Luckily, the noodles and soup came at almost the same time. We waste no time devouring the noodles and the soup placed in front of us as if we were starved for days.

Chen was right; it isn’t a wise choice to rush our orders. Someone became the sacrificial lamb and rushed his orders and the owner said something like this:

If you cannot wait, you cannot eat; if you can wait, you can eat. UNDERSTAND!?

The portions served are definitely enough for anyone, anytime unlike the Swinburne cafeteria and ChiliPepper. 3 of us ordered a RM4 portion and another 3 ordered a RM6 portion. The RM6 portion is like enough to feed a family of 3 or even 4.

I’ll definitely come back to have Kolo Mee again in this shop. By the way, the name of this shop is Min Joo.
